Terms of service.
Plain-English version: be honest in what you list, do not abuse the platform, and remember that we connect you to events — we do not run them.
Who we are
speeddates.com (“we”, “us”) is a directory of speed dating events. Visitors browse listings; registered attendees save events to a personal dashboard; approved organizers list events for free. By using the site you agree to these terms.
What we provide
- A searchable directory of upcoming speed dating events.
- Free attendee accounts to save events and receive transactional notifications.
- A free organizer application, vetting, and listing pipeline.
We do not sell tickets, host the events, vouch for the organizer, or refund payments. The Get Tickets button hands you to an external page; what happens after is between you and the organizer.
Account rules
- You must be at least 18 to create an account.
- Provide accurate information and keep it current.
- One person per account; do not share credentials.
- Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for activity on your account.
Acceptable use
- Do not abuse, harass, threaten, or impersonate anyone on the platform.
- Do not post or transmit unlawful, deceptive, or misleading content.
- Do not scrape, mirror, or republish the directory without written permission.
- Do not attempt to break, probe, or overload the site or its infrastructure.
Organizer listings
Approved organizers are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, for honoring tickets sold via the linked external page, and for compliance with local laws. Listings pass an automated content check before going live; we may also remove listings that violate our content rules at any time, with a notice to the organizer.
Content rules for listings
- No vulgar, discriminatory, or harassing language.
- No embedded ticketing or booking links inside descriptions or titles — use the dedicated ticket URL field.
- No duplicate listings of the same event.
- No misrepresentation of venue, host, or audience.
Ticketing & refunds
Payments happen on the organizer’s external ticketing page. Refund and cancellation policies are set by the organizer. We are not party to that transaction and cannot issue refunds.
Intellectual property
The site design, brand, and code belong to us. Listings remain the intellectual property of the organizers who post them; by listing, organizers grant us a non-exclusive licence to display the listing on the site and to reference it in service-related communications and SEO surfaces (sitemap, schema.org markup, meta previews).
Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms or our content rules. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us via the contact page — see the privacy policy for what happens to your data afterwards.
Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is”. We make reasonable efforts to keep listings accurate but cannot guarantee completeness, the conduct of organizers or other attendees, or that any specific event will take place as described. Use the platform with the same common sense you would bring to meeting strangers anywhere else.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the platform. Our total liability for any claim is capped at any fees you have paid us in the prior twelve months — which, at present, is zero.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced by email to registered users and posted here with a new revision date. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
