About this event
As Queer and Trans People of Colour, we navigate the world, society and the city very differently.
Our identities in themselves can be radical and transformative, but also othering. We rarely get the space to reflect and express the plurality of our experiences, whilst dreaming of what a world that really centres us could be like.
Dreaming, for us, is a radical act, as QTPOC, rarely do we get the space to collectively envision a world that centres us.
This workshop carves out the space to dream, envision a landscape of our identity('s) and collectively express our wishes for the future, and feelings and experiences of navigating the world with identities that are at the complex intersection of race, queerness, transness, ethnicity, culture, religion.
Together we will create a collective and collaborative collage that becomes the landscape of QTiPOC identity and experience.
All materials will be provided, come for the energy, to be creative in a care-centred and expressive space!
A bout the facilitator:
This workshop is hosted by artist Aaran (they/them), in collaboration with The QPOC Project. This workshop was inspired by The QPOC Projects iconic club night YAYFF (Where Are You From From?), and follows a series of creative workshops as a way to further explore and celebrate our identities and nourish community in a more low key, sober and creative space.
