About this event

Are you 18-25? Do you wish you had more LGBT+ representation when you were younger? Do you wish you and your peers had access to queer stories? What difference would it have made?

Just Like Us are the LGBT+ young people's charity. Their volunteers go into schools across England and Wales, deliver talks that champion equality and share their personal stories.

By sharing their story they provide representation, let LGBT+ young people feel seen for the first time and empower their peers to be the best allies they can be.

In this session you'll learn how Just Like Us work with their LGBT+ volunteers, helping them to turn their experiences into stories for young people. Stories that will help schools become more inclusive and shape a more compassionate generation.

Join them for a one of a kind storytelling workshop and learn how to be the representation you wish you had!

Accessibility:

The Centre's accessibility statement is here.

This event will include the following to ensure it remains as accessible as possible:

  • Scheduled breaks
  • Name and pronoun stickers (optional)
  • Any print outs include blue background alternatives
  • It would be great if there could be some kind of breakout space (let us know if this is possible)
  • As the session is about LGBTQ+ storytelling it will include people sharing their personal experiences. For the purpose of this session we will instruct that people are mindful to draw on experiences that are considerate of others in the space and avoid potentially triggering topics.
