About this event
Self-Pleasure Club is about exploring pleasure in a creative, safe and embodied way. We guide you on your pleasure journey to expand and define your own version. Whether you are in a relationship, dating, single or anything in between, Self-Pleasure Club is your time and space, to prioritize your pleasure in a safe community.
We are excited to partner again with the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre again in the context of their Women and Non-Binary Day.
This new workshop's theme is TURN-ON THE ONS, TURN-OFF THE OFFS.
Through guided reflections, sharing circles and activities (solo or partnered), you will gain a better understanding of your arousal process.
We welcome all women and non-binary and value everybody’s experience. Self-Pleasure Club honours the intersectional experience and encourages you to develop a relationship with your unique pleasure.

W hat this workshop will be about:
In the workshop “Turn-On the Ons, Turn-Off the Offs” we are going to explore our Sexual Response process. Through theoretical learning, self-reflection activities, grounding meditation and a sharing circle, we will better understand our brain process to get turned on: understanding the sensitivity of our accelerators and decelerators; reflecting on what are our turn-ons and turn-offs.
The workshop content and activities are mainly influenced by the work of Emily Nagoski and her book ‘Come as you are’. We will not discuss genitals or gender. In fact, all of us have unique sexual response processes that is highly influenced by our brains and the results of many external factors.
N ote on triggers:
This workshop can be triggering to people with sexual trauma as we will dive into our decelerators which can include stress, body image, shame, performance anxiety, fear of being interrupted or caught, relationship characteristics (especially trust), a history of sexual trauma, parenting, worries about reputation, and feeling expected or obliged to have sex. If you feel like this can be triggering to you, maybe this workshop’s theme is not the best for you at this time.
About the group and facilitators:
Self-Pleasure Club was born in September 2022 and has been running monthly workshops in East London since. Each workshop explores a different theme through various activities: personal introspection, group sharing and physical practices.
The workshops are facilitated by Valentine, who created Self-Pleasure Club after coming out queer and noticing the lack of knowledge on AFAB sexuality and of space to talk about it.
Valentine has years of experience in community organising and feminist activism. Her experiences include creating group dynamics that are inclusive and intersectional, and facilitating conversations that respect diverse perspectives and community understanding.
Emily, co-facilitator, has experience working in Therapeutics and in Diversity, equity and inclusion policy. She has experience and training in managing people from different intersectionality. Emily is neurodivergent and makes sure the workshops are inclusive of different learning capabilities.
The Self-Pleasure Club workshops are a group-learning opportunity. We do not see ourselves as ’teachers’, instead we are all here to learn and we are big believers in learning from hearing others’ experiences. We prepare each workshop with care and love to bring new topics and activities each time, but the essence of the Self-Pleasure Club workshops lies in the group's energy and involvement. This is a co-created experience and each participant’s reality is valued.
We want to create a safe experience as much as possible and these are the agreements of the space:
- We are all here to listen to each other with no judgment, respect each other and make this space safe.
- We welcome and encourage participation but nothing is mandatory. We will offer adaptations to the activities and will always ask for your consent first.
- We encourage personal boundaries. You always have the option to not participate in a sharing circle or activity. And if you feel like
