What are the questions you haven't yet asked, and is there still time? Or are you waiting for it to be too late?
Theatre and performance maker, Victor Esses, is beginning the development of a participatory, intergenerational audio piece exploring the questions and reflections of queer people from different generations. Pairing up participants from different generations, he will run a series of three workshops involving discussions, play, a safe space, questions, and maybe even some singing. We would love to hear from as many interested people as possible, encouraging those from different ages, ethnicities, genders, sexualities, nationalities, etc.
Queers on Tape (working title) will take shape across the workshop series, then be available online through his and other partners’ websites. Distribution will happen through social media and QR codes distributed in venues where Victor’s show The Death & Life of All of Us will tour in spring and autumn 2024.
Expect an open and creative environment, conversations, gentle warmups in the space, recording audio, making funny sounds, connecting to others, and other odd but simple stuff. Parts of the workshops will be recorded as well as scripted moments to be developed with participants. Finally, a soundtrack will also be added in the process of editing together the final piece.
