This accessible workshop offers LGBTQ+ people and Allies an opportunity to explore identity, self-compassion, personal meaning and connection in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Shamanic Journeying is a practice similar to guided meditation, using relaxation, visualisation and gentle drumming to support reflective exploration. You’ll be guided through a journey into the “Realm of the Prism”, followed by opportunities to reflect on your experience, share with others and consider how you might integrate your insights into everyday life.
The session explores the queer context of shamanic practice and creates space to reflect on our experiences, strengths, challenges and hopes.
No previous experience of Shamanic or Pagan practices is needed. Whether you are curious, experienced or completely new to journeying, you are warmly welcome.
The session is trauma-informed, inclusive and open to LGBTQ+ people and Allies of all backgrounds.
About the facilitator
Joseph Atiase (he/they) is a queer Londoner, qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor, shamanic practitioner, Sacred Celebrant and Priest of the Goddess, trained in Glastonbury/Avalon. With 15 years’ experience working in health and social care, Joseph has supported people experiencing homelessness, trauma and substance misuse.
Joseph brings together his professional therapeutic experience with a deep connection to shamanic and nature-based practices, creating spaces that encourage reflection, healing, self-discovery and connection. His approach is compassionate, inclusive and grounded in the belief that everyone should have the freedom to explore who they are and what gives their life meaning.
As a queer practitioner, Joseph is passionate about creating welcoming spaces for LGBTQ+ people and Allies, where diverse identities, experiences and ways of being are respected and celebrated. Through counselling, ceremony and shamanic practice, Joseph supports people to connect more deeply with themselves, others and the natural world.
