It's Halloween! Come and carve a pumpkin with some queer community.
A great chance to make new friends whilst quietly doing an activity and not having to make eye contact because you gotta focus on your carving.
We can talk about our favourite spooky films and have a cuppa and compare the ‘fruits’ of this year’s labour (because a pumpkin is technically a fruit and not a vegetable).
Hosts:
Hattie (she/her) - white cis Jewish Queer Fat Femme way too excited about Halloween and will probably be wearing a bat jumper. Interests include: crafts (and The Craft), wild swimming, fatshion, food, coffee, trees, movies/theatre/trashy tv/cartoons.
Ally (they/them) - white Jewish enby, autumn enthusiast, into spooky but not scary. Dresses like a 90s TV presenter, only has two moods (whimsical and outraged). Almost exclusively watches cartoons. Talks about podcasts a lot. Carves the same pumpkin every year.
Please bring:
- A pumpkin - usually available for £1 at the supermarket but with inflation who knows this year
- Carving tools if you have them
- Spoons if you have any spare
- Snacks if you want them
There will be:
- Sharpies - to draw your designs with
- Bowls - for all the pumpkin guts you scoop out
- Newspaper - to protect the LGBTQ+ Centre tables
- Some spoons - for people who don't have their own
- Some carving tools - for people who don't have their own
- Cloths - to wipe down after we're done
- Tea - to drink if you want to
The organisers are not liable if injury occurs during this event. First Aid is on site but take care when using carving tools and use them only at your own risk!

Covid and mpox safety at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre:
To keep our community safe, we ask that all visitors do not visit the centre if they are feeling any Covid-19 and/or mpox symptoms including headache, fever, sore throat, consistent cough, chills and unusual spots, scabs or ulcers.
You can wear a mask if you feel more comfortable. We also have masks and hand sanitiser available at the Centre.
