Come and make a giant queer protest scarf! We will be sharing and learning textile crafts, with something available for all abilities, to make a giant scarf for the centre to use at protests and events.
The workshop is four hours long to allow us to plan out the slogan, make a patch for each letter, break for drinks and snacks and assemble the final scarf. You are welcome to drop in and out as you like, to help with making or just to have a chat!
We will be using a variety of methods such as crochet, applique, fabric paints, knitting and patchwork to make the scarf. There will be enough equipment and materials available, but please bring anything you are happy to contribute, such as old fabrics, beads or wool.
Making a queer protest scarf is about feeling comfortable in activism and public spaces, so please let us know any of your requirements so that we can do our best to accommodate them!

Covid and mpox safety at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre:
To keep our community safe, we ask that all visitors do not visit the centre if they are feeling any Covid-19 and/or monkeypox symptoms including headache, fever, sore throat, consistent cough, chills and unusual spots, scabs or ulcers.
You can wear a mask if you feel more comfortable. We also have masks and hand sanitiser available at the Centre.
