Queer DJs unite!
This meetup is for those who DJ either as a hobby or professionally, or want to get into DJing, and are looking to meet other DJs to share ideas, passions, resources and mutual support. Maybe even collaborate on some music or events in the future!
You don’t need to be a ‘superstar DJ’ to attend, nor have DJ’d before - come as you are, with the experience, passions and ideas that you have.
We will use the session to get to know each other, share experiences, sounds, and ambitions.
Feel free to bring any sounds/mixes you may want to share (but also, no pressure to bring any).
While the session is focussed around DJing, those who are involved in electronic music production are also more than welcome to join.
Please note: This is not a DJ class; there will not be any DJ decks (at least for the first session).
Facilitator:
Kapil / Caprice Sühñ (he/him) is a DJ by hobby. He’s DJ’d on-and-off for the past seven years, starting off in the West Midlands, co-running and DJing Leamington Spa’s first queer night “The Salon” centred around queer people of colour. More recently, he’s DJ’d at queer POC events in London.
His sound is an eclectic mashup of house, electronic and pop, with Bollywood and UK Desi beats.
He doesn’t profess to be a DJ ‘expert’, and is keen to learn from others. He is passionate about house music, making DJ’ing less intimidating and more accessible, and queer self-expression through music.

Covid and monkeypox safety at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre:
To keep our community safe, we ask that all visitors do not visit the centre if they are feeling any Covid-19 and/or monkeypox symptoms including headache, fever, sore throat, consistent cough, chills and unusual spots, scabs or ulcers.
You can wear a mask if you feel more comfortable. We also have masks and hand sanitiser available at the Centre.
