This night of queer poetry will celebrate the launch of Kat Dixon’s debut poetry book, eat the glitter, published by Broken Sleep Books. Join us for readings, a chance to get a signed copy and to celebrate in a wonderful LGBTQ+ community space.

eat the glitter is an irreverent, lyrical exploration of queer love, modern culture, and a post-pandemic world. Tender yet cynical, this pamphlet nudges at the discomfort of art, capitalism, social contracts and the disconcerting remnants of lockdown in our lives. Amidst Kat Dixon's poetry lies an undercurrent of vulnerability, an acute and sensitive awareness of the world’s complexities and contradictions.
Featuring two guest readers:
Deborah Finding (she/her) is a queer feminist writer. Her debut pamphlet, ‘vigils for dead and dying girls’ is published with Nine Pens, and her second 'amortisation' won the Live Canon pamphlet competition and will be out later this year. She won the Write By The Sea single poem prize, and has been shortlisted or commended for the Troubadour, Live Canon, Hexham, Hammond House and Ver Poets Prizes . She is poet in residence at London’s Soho Poly. You can find her on Instagram at @dfinding.
Cleo Henry (they/them) is a London-based poet with an interest in queerness, giant squid and the apocalypse. They released their first pamphlet, The Last Lesbian Bar in the Midlands, with Fourteen Poems in 2022. They have also been published in Ambit, Fruit Journal and by Cipher Press, Pilot Press and Broken Sleep Books. You can find them on Instagram at @cleo.p.henry.

Kat Dixon (she/her) is a queer writer, poet and performer. This event launches her first poetry pamphlet, 'eat the glitter' with publisher Broken Sleep Books.
Her poetry has appeared in various magazines, collaborations and anthologies, including The Rialto, Butcher’s Dog, fourteenpoems and ReCreation Anthology. She holds an MA in writing poetry with The Poetry School and Newcastle University.

To keep our community safe, we ask that all visitors do not visit the Centre if they are feeling any Covid-19 and/or mpox symptoms including headache, fever, sore throat, consistent cough, chills and unusual spots, scabs or ulcers.
You can wear a mask if you feel more comfortable. We also have masks and hand sanitiser available at the Centre.
