About this event
This is a line dance taster class that introduces you to some basic steps and routines to a variety of musical styles for the complete beginner. Line dancing is a great way to get into dance and movement to music.
You don’t need a partner but you still act as a team to move around the floor. Although this class will be low impact, participants should be fit enough to take part in light exercise. You should wear comfortable clothing and leather-soled shoes if possible.
About the organiser:
Peter founded The Cactus Club in 1993, at the Bell in Kings Cross, to provide a line dance club specifically for the LGBTQ community in London. Since then, the club has moved around and seen many changes but its core purpose has not changed – to introduce people to dance and encourage fitness in a safe environment. We offer regular classes in London at our regular club night and can be found in the Pleasure Garden at Brighton Pride.
The cactus club is a member of OutForSport which encourages participation in ‘sport’ in the LGBTQ Community in London.
Accessibility:
The Centre's accessibility statement is here. This event is a dance class where all attendees must be able to do light aerobic exercise.
