About this event
We welcome all LGBTQ+ unpaid Carers of London to join us for a chat, the chance to meet other LGBTQ+ Carers and to enjoy a hot drink on us!
A Carer provides unpaid support to someone who could not manage without them. This support could be practical, emotional or personal. Anyone can become a Carer at any time in their life and 1 in 10 LGBTQ+ people are a Carer.
For example, a Carer could be:
- Someone supporting a friend emotionally who struggles with substance misuse
- Someone caring for their partner who has dementia.
- Someone who does the shopping for a neighbour who has PTSD.
- Someone who goes to hospital appointments with an ex-partner who has cancer.
- Someone keeping an eye on the mental health of their chosen family members by helping them to keep on top of bills and cooking.
If you are an LGBTQ+ Carer living in London we would love to meet you. We are a friendly group who meet once a month to talk and support each other. We can also connect you with specific organisations who can support you in your caring role.
