Join us to hear from Pajtim Statovci (he/him), Finnish novelist of Kosovan background and author of award-winning My Cat Yugoslavia. In this event co-organised by KCLSU LGBT+ Network and LGBTQ+ Community Centre, Filip (he/him) of the LGBT+ Network will facilitate a conversation about the themes in Pajtim’s work, the success of My Cat Yugoslavia, and Pajtim’s newly released novel, BOLLA. There will be chances to hear excerpts of Pajtim’s work as well as ask questions.
Copies of BOLLA will be available for sale before and after the event. Pajtim will be signing books at the end of the event. Please arrive at 3:45pm if you’d like to buy a copy before the talk and find a good seat, so we can start the conversation promptly at 4pm.
Please note that this event is open to all, regardless of whether you’ve read any of Pajtim’s work!
About the organiser and facilitator:
Filip (he/him) is the chair of the King’s College London Students’ Union LGBT+ Network (@kclsulgbt). Over the past year in the role, he’s held and facilitated a series of queer literary events at King’s, with authors such as Shon Faye, Jeremy Atherton Lin or Paul Mendez. He’s undertaking a PhD on LGBT+ Mental Health, and outside of academia, he’s an enthusiast of queer, contemporary and international literature.
