The Friends or Friends Houseplants and You workshop is a gathering for plant enthusiasts of all levels to learn about plant care and their connection to us.
In this workshop, we will discuss potential problems including pests, failure to thrive and rescuing poorly plants.
Everyone has a green thumb but more importantly, everyone can benefit from the power of plants.
Each participant will receive a free plant to nourish, potting soil to learn about root health and to re-pot (all together) as well as space to discuss their relationship to plants.
It will end in a feedback conversation where we participants will share their questions, anecdotes and goals pertaining to their garden.
We will close with a reminder that the most important garden is in our mind and using plants to practice skills to tend to it can be an invaluable tool.
About the organiser
Silver Spence is a migrating queer, founder of Friends or Friends. She utilises her background in Science and Technology to bring plant joy to her community and contextualise identity in horticulture. She also loves her dog, Pancho, who is often by her side promoting his own cuddle agenda.
