About this event
Join us for a morning of discussing death, mourning and those we’ve lost. The death cafe is a space for any LGBTQ+ person who has lost a loved one, who is anticipating loss or is curious about death.
The space will involve facilitated discussion on a number of death-related topics aimed at addressing taboos and finding mutual understanding and solidarity within a community space.
Drinks and snacks will also be provided.
This event is free to anyone who needs it - but donations will be taken for our facilitator. Please give as much as you feel you are able to.
Note: We'll be ensuring the group uses inclusive language and uses trigger warnings for anyone who needs them.
Facilitators:
Shumanthini Yoheswaran / Shumi (she/her) is an integrative counsellor and therapist based in South London.
Tom Ana (they/them) is a manager at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre with several years experience as a support worker.
Accessibility:
The space does not have a wheelchair accessible toilet, but we have a standing arrangement to use the facilities of a neighbouring business (about a 2 minute trip).

Covid and monkeypox safety at the Centre:
To keep our community safe, we ask that all visitors do not visit the centre if they are feeling unwell including headache, fever, sore throat, consistent cough, chills and unusual spots, scabs or ulcers.
You can wear a mask if you feel more comfortable. We also have masks and hand sanitiser available at the Centre.
