About this event
Bike maintenance 101 will go over all the essential road-side maintenance and regular safety checks to perform on your bike. This will involve:
- How to take off a wheel and put it on again
- How to repair a puncture & replace an inner tube
- How to check the brakes and make minor adjustments
- Safety checks
- How to know when to take the bike to get fixed!
- Q&A
This will be a work-along session, not a lecture! You will probably be asked to pair up with 1 bike between 2. You are very welcome to bring your own bike since all bikes have their own quirks, but much of the essential information is applicable to all bikes. I will also bring along 3 bikes to share and demonstrate.
If you have your own tools such as allen keys, adjustable wrench, or a puncture repair kit, you’re very welcome to bring them, but they are not essential as I will be bringing enough for everyone.
About the organiser:
Matty aka Bent Wheels is a London-based bike mechanic. They currently work part time as a bike mechanic while also studying Sociology. They like nerding out with others about bikes, playing drums, and hanging out with their 2 fluffy bunnies.
Please note that we are unable to refund donations.
