Let's be honest.. winter is better when you've got a lesbian to hold. ♡ Whether you're hoping to meet your future wife, problematic situationship, a new running buddy or just expand your queer community, Mates & Dates is about making genuine connections, face to face.
If you've had enough of the apps, or you've spotted someone cute at Lesbirun but never found the courage to say hello, this is your chance.
This winter we're taking over the upstairs lounge at Lulie's Tavern for an intimate evening of speed dating beside a crackling fireplace. You'll be welcomed with a glass of bubbles on arrival before settling into a series of short one-on-one conversations, with thoughtful prompts to help the conversation flow.
We've intentionally kept numbers limited to create a warm, comfortable atmosphere where meeting new people feels easy.
Dates
Tuesday 11th August – generally for people in their early 20s to late 20s
Tuesday 18th August – generally for people in their early 30s to early 40s
Tuesday 25th August – generally for people in their mid 40s to late 50s
These age ranges are intended as a guide rather than a strict rule. We're not checking IDs at the door, but we've introduced these groupings in response to community feedback to help people meet others at a similar stage of life.

Doors open at 7pm. Please arrive early, speed dating will kick off at 7:30pm sharp and we don’t want your dates to miss out.
Your ticket includes a glass of bubbles on arrival. Once the dating rounds have wrapped up, the evening continues, stay by the fire, grab another drink, and spend the rest of the night chatting with the people you connected with. Your intentions will be clear by your 'open to mates' sticker, 'open to dates' sticker, ot both.
